ORPHANAGES UPDATE

SPECIAL TESTIMONIES

Here are exciting testimonies about the educational achievements of some of our older children and the commencement of the construction of our block of classrooms project.

1. We are so excited to let you know that one of our older girls, Pauline Ubolo graduated from a reputable College of Nursing earlier this month. She has now joined our team of health staff at Ministry of Mercy Medical Center,Lokoja and we cannot tell how much joy and fulfillment we derive from having our very own contribute to the delivery of free (and in a few cases highly subsidized) Medical and Surgical services to poor pregnant women and the vulnerable who would not have been able to afford otherwise. We are grateful to God for this gift and trust Him to continue raising our children to take on the baton as we are not getting younger.

begins the academic journey into her chosen career.

Our daughter, Lillian Damusa who graduated from Highschool – Ministry of Mercy Christian Academy – in July has also gained admission to another College of Nursing and now attending school. Her school is quite more expensive than we expected but by means of divine provision, she was able to resume and get registered. Please, pray that the good Lord who saw Pauline through will give her success even as she

Also, four of our children (3 girls and 1 boy on crutches) have been admitted to one of our Polytechnics to study their preferred courses; Accounting, Library and Information Science. They as well have resumed and got through the registration process. This is in addition to our many continuing students in various tertiary institutions across the country who have all gone back to school and a good number of them are making us proud.

We began a block of 4 classrooms project for Ministry of Mercy Christian Academy, Otutulu in July and by means of divine provision, we have finished foundation work and allowing the structure to receive enough rainwater to properly settle before we do the German floor. Please, pray for resources to complete this project as soon as possible.

Thank you for always praying for us and supporting what God is doing in the lives of these little ones of His.Loads of love to you from all of us!

MEDICAL CLINIC UPDATE

The month’s update on our mission hospital is presented along the paths of the three main domains of the hospital’s activities – General healthcare, Charity and the Gospel. We have the following few selected stories from each area.

CHARITY HEALTH SERVICES:

Several medical services were provided to many patients for free or at assisted cost during the month. Most of these services have to do with maternal and child health cases. 10 women had child deliveries virtually free of charge within the month; four of these was a highly subsidized cesarean section. This is in addition to several orphans who also had medical services free of charge. Few of these stories and statistics are summarized below.

GENERAL HEALTH CARE:

Here we have a few selected stories:

EO is a 19-month-old baby boy with a congenital inguinoscrotal hernia. Had a successful herniotomy. He is doing well.

Dr. W. A. S. Omale, MD

Consultant Ophthalmologist and Medical Director, MoM Medical Center

SJ is a 30-year-old farmer with a massive bilateral hydrocele (scrotal swelling due to fluid-filled sac around the testicles). Had a successful repair. He is doing well.

REPORT FROM MoM Clinic Outlet in Otutulu Village:

One of the children, AI had a bad ulcer on the scalp. She was referred to MoM Medical Centre Lokoja where her condition significantly improved and the ulcer has largely healed. She was now referred back to our local clinic at MoM Orphanage Otutulu to continue the dressing until complete healing is achieved

This is RE one of the MoM wards with multiple disabilities, she had diarrhea and vomiting and she was placed on drugs and ORS. She has recovered. Also, one of the male children Danny Friday had a recurrent fever a appetite. He was placed on malaria treatment and an antibiotic course with IV fluids of 4.3% dextrose.

THE GOSPEL

You may recall from our last report that our chaplain had to resign to be able to return home to care for his sick wife. Gospel activities are now being coordinated by some of our medical staff for now. The gospel continues to be shared among our patients and their caregivers through various avenues - Morning devotion sessions and ward evangelism.
